Nekuda, L. Career management of student and graduates on social media. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2023. The diploma thesis deals with the use of social networks in career management of students and graduates of economics faculties. The research is based on previously conducted studies and selected statements that emerge from the studies. The main part of the research evaluates the services provided by university career centres and then the use of social networks for career development. Recommendations were formulated based on the questionnaire survey respondents' current use of social networking sites and their preferences regarding the transfer of information towards students during their studies. The results indicated the need for including the issue in the curricula of economics faculties and confirmed the claims of the studies in the research part of the thesis.
"Insect Queen in unusual delicacies realm": Culinary tourism, food festivals and private tasting events in the context of sociocultural anthropology

The goal of this thesis is to discuss how unusual delicacies are conceptualized in the perspective of sociocultural anthropology - specifically, in the context of anthropology of food. Unusual delicacies are to be understood as non-traditional, unique, but at the same time, shocking or perceived as "bizarre" meals. The complex description of the individual's experience during the consumption of unusual delicacies will help to analyze what is the overall perception of the experience, its pervasion into self-presentation, as well as what are the main motivations for it. Further, it is discussed what role the unusual delicacies play in the context of exploring foreign countries and whether they possess any cultural and symbolic meaning.
Authenticity in the perception of users of the BeReal network

The bachelor thesis "Authenticity from the Perspective of BeReal Social Media Users" examines the concept and perception of authenticity among users of the social media platform BeReal. It also focuses on the expression of identity and self-presentation within the platform's environment and investigates the motivations that drive participants in the research to use BeReal. The theoretical part of the thesis delves into the concepts of authenticity, identity, self-presentation, and sharing everyday experiences, providing the contextual framework for the study. The theoretical foundations draw from George E. Newman's categorization of authenticity, Erving Goffman's dramaturgical analysis, the exhibitionist approach to self-presentation, and social photography. The research aimed to explore how BeReal users interpret the concept of authenticity, how it manifests for them, and what it means to them. For this purpose, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted, and the data were subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. The Experience of Nonbinary Individuals with Self-Presentation and Gender Expression (from a Phenomenological Perspective)

This bachelor's thesis explores lived experiences of individuals who identify as non-binary, both in personal spheres and social interactions. It defines the concept of gender and examines related concepts such as its development, roles, stereotypes, and its socially constructed nature, as well as its interaction with social and personal identity. It briefly touches on androgyny and gender-aschematicity and their potential positive impact on society through reducing the salience of gender stereotypes, by promoting more flexible notions of gender. In the empirical section, the thesis analyses the narratives of four non- binary informants (obtained through semi-structured interviews) using interpretive phenomenological analysis. It specifically focuses on self-presentation and gender expression in relation to authenticity, studying the interaction between the self and the social environment. The thesis highlights the variability in experiences among these four individuals and summarizes their experiences into emergent themes and subthemes. The diploma thesis "NFTs as profile pictures on social media" focuses on the young blockchain technology of non-fungible tokens and one of its most common use cases. The theoretical part of the thesis presents key terms and concepts closely related to NFTs and profile pictures. The practical part of the thesis consists of the research itself, a qualitative study conducted via semi-structured interviews with participants who use NFTs as profile pictures on social media. The aim of the research is to find out where and why, in relation to self-presentation, are NFTs used as profile pictures on social media.
Presentation of female politicians from a gender perspective on Facebook

The thesis focuses on the self-presentation of Czech female politicians through the lens of gender perspective on Facebook. It focuses on the issue of gender roles and stereotypes, which are put in the context of the political environment. It defines political communication and introduces the phenomena that appear in the field of political communication with the development of new and social media. It also presents the current situation regarding the representation of women in both chambers of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Based on the identified gender aspects, it then examines the online communication of seven selected female MPs through quantitative content analysis and confronts the results with the existing knowledge in the field of gendered political communication. The findings of the analysis suggest that the selected women politicians tend to focus on more typically masculine issues, such as topics related to the foreign relations or economic and tax issues. In addition, the analysis focused on the presence of defined dimensions of personalisation and the selfie format as a tool of celebritisation of political communication. Both of these phenomena were minimally present in the analysis.

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the campaign of presidential candidate Jaroslav Bašta, who is running for the political party Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) in 2023. Specifically, the content of his website will be compared to the content on the social network Facebook, which serves as a support for his candidacyThe thesis aimsis to identify differences between the content on these two platforms and to analyse the strategies used in the areas of marketing, public relations, and public opinion. The thesis will also examine whether the presidential candidate uses elements of illiberalism and how he communicates his electoral program. In the theoretical part, the thesis will focus on digital communication as a "new tool of political communication" and define key concepts and theories related to digital and political communication and marketing. The starting point will be the works of political scientist Chytilek (2012 or 2019), who specializes in political marketing, and the works of Matušková (e.g., 2006), an expert on political and electoral marketing. Authenticity on BeReal, the new social media app

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the examination of authentic performance on the new social media site BeReal. The ambition of this thesis is to use qualitative methods to find out how selected respondents present themselves on this social network. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on communication, social networks, self-presentation, authenticity and the introduction of the BeReal app. In the practical part, the research methodology is introduced to familiarize the reader with the research sample and research questions. It also presents the justification for the chosen qualitative methods, which in this thesis are semi-structured interviews and the digital tracing method attached to them. The methodology section is followed by the research section of the thesis. This is divided into subsections according to the research questions, which aim to help answer the main research question concerning the extent of user authenticity. The last chapter of the research is then a discussion of the results, which summarises the interview findings and links them to the theoretical knowledge from the first part of the thesis. The final section of the paper provides a brief summary of the results and suggestions for further investigation of the phenomenon.
Interconnection of online and offline social spaces: the impact of social networks on users

This diploma thesis describes the interconnection of online and offline social spaces, supportive Instagram profiles, the impact of social networks on users and the feelings that appear in connection with the use of social networks among users. The aim of this thesis is to answer the following three questions: (1) how respondents view the presentation of other Instagram users, (2) how they perceive supportive Instagram profiles, profiles which point out the possible differences of online and offline social space, (3) what feelings are connected with the use of social media and where are possible negative and positive impacts of social media. The theoretical part aims to describe the main concepts that are linked with social media, self- presentation and identity, it also shows the consequences of using social networks and describes supporting profiles. The practical part strives to answer the previous questions through a semi- structured interview, a questionnaire and an expert interview which is then analysed using a thematic analysis and a statistical analysis. The result of this thesis shows that people present themselves in the best way, supportive profiles are popular among respondents and they have a positive view of them and think that these profiles can help somebody.
